All the reasons why I can safely conclude that Taiora is simply meant to be
There's about a million reasons, to be honest. There's plenty of big things and all the small sort of animation things that you just can't take out in the dubbed version that show how these two truly care about each other.

They trust each other completely.
I think this is pretty safe to say. Tai's the leader, so I guess Sora is obliged to follow what he says, but she doesn't usually protest or try to go against him like Matt, even if she knows what he's doing is stupid, might get them in danger, or a better alternative. With the Dark Master's Saga, when all the other kids split up, she sticks with him.
Vice versa, too. Tai knows Sora can do the right thing, and he trusted Sora to take care of Kari. Kari is someone he cares a lot about, so that must mean he has some pretty strong faith in Sora as well. I mean, can you see him telling Mimi or Matt to take care of his little sister?
Here's another thing: in some kind of crisis or something, notice they always seem to scream out the other's name. Okay, not all the time. Anyway, when they're not with one another, they always seem to casually ask, "I wonder where Tai/Sora is right now" or something. |

They're the only ones who knew each other before summer camp.
That isn't counting family of course, in which case Matt and TK or Tai and Kari would be accepted.
Tai and Sora go to the same elementary school in Odaiba, and they seem to have been in all the same classes. Their relationship whether they were friends back then is something I'm not sure of.
Then there's soccer, both of their favorite sports. If I'm right, Sora was on an all girls' team, but she was really good so she moved to the same team as Tai. And at soccer camp, which Sora talked about in the episode featuring Skullgreymon, where she said Tai was really nice and other stuff like that.

They're next to each other in almost every scene!
You really can't deny this one. Take a look for yourselves next time you're watching. I've seen every episode multiple times, and looking over a lot of the screenshots, it isn't just me saying that because I want them to be. Seriously, if they aren't next to each other or even remotely close, I'm surprised. They run next to each other, right after or before each other in a line, when they're battling, falling, anything.

The Trilogy Episodes
"The Prisoner of the Pyramid," "The Earthquake of Metalgreymon," (skipping "Home Away from Home"), & "Forget About It" are what I call the trilogy because it's about the three best episodes packed with evidence of Taiora.
They're in a desert-y area, with 2 pyramids stacked on top of each other and a sphinx, sort of like Egypt. One night, Sora and Tai are up and talking to each other. Tai promises he won't let anything hurt her. (Now isn't that sweet? Rumor: They kiss at this part!) The next day ,while Tai, Sora, and Izzy are exploring the pyramid, Datamon kidnaps Sora and Biyomon.
Tai, who's too afraid to go through the electrical wall thing, later blames himself that night. He CRIES (now how often does he do that?) and totally screams that it's all his fault Sora is gone. Maybe it is, or he just cares about her so much that he feels responsible, or because he let her get hurt. You pick.
The others are making a diversion, and Tai and Agumon enter the pyramid, where Datamon is trying to make a clone of Sora. Tai saves her, but then she's dangling over Etemon's Dark Network. He doesn't let go, they get out, etc. Datamon is sucked into the network instead by Etemon himself. After their getaway, they're back outside, when Tai and Metalgreymon are sucked into Etemon's weird machine thingy. He's sent home, blah, blah.
Now when he returns, days have passed, and they've all been split up. Sora was the first person to go off looking for Tai! Awww, how sweet. Anyway, she's also the last person still looking. Cares a lot about Tai, doesn't she?

Other Little Things
In the first episode, "And So it Begins..." when Tai is telling about all the other kids, he says "Sora's pretty cool...for a girl." Now that doesn't mean he's sexist or anything. After all, he didn't say that anyone else is cool, except Matt, who's already the self-proclaimed cool one.
In the episode "Departure for a New Continent," when they're looking for tags and heading to Server, their little raft, with them on it, gets swallowed by Whamon...Tai grabs onto the mast to hang on...and Sora holds onto Tai's waist for a very long time!
Here's a lame one, but one I noticed nonetheless. In the episode with Cocatrimon, Sora gets Tai's crest back. Mimi gets Joe's, and I guess that can work too.
In the one where they finally fight Piedmon, Sora takes care of Kari and TK, and she puts herself responsible also for Tai's keychain (which is actually Tai). I mean, if I remember right, even Piedmon made some crack about them, just as he did with Kari and TK, when he said something about them falling...for each other!

Sora's Crest of Love
When Sora found out her crest wouldn't glow, she was crying. Tai and Matt were there to cheer her up, but it seems to me Matt wasn't doing such a good job. Tai, on the other hand, tried his best. When he found out it was the crest of Love, he said "That's perfect for you, Sora!" When she denied it, he said how she always cared about other people.
Oh, and this is one of my favorites. It goes to show Tai isn't some leader who doesn't care about anyone else at the time. At the end of that episode, after Sora's crest finally glows and Birdramon digivolves to Garudamon, her digimon wasn't the only one who felt her love! Tai says quote: "I felt something, Sora...it must have been your love shining through!" Now who else said something that nice or felt anything at all (except Joe with whatever those things were in his pocket)? |
