Could Tai & Sora work with other people than each other???
...maybe. But listen to my opinion on it anyway! Sorato and Michi and especially yaoi and yuri couple supporters may get angry, but remember, this is for Taiora, so why are you still here? I split it into Tai and Sora, and I also shared my opinions on other couples without them in it.
I know that Taiora isn't the only existing couple, and I like a lot of others (and hate some too), so I'll share my opinion. But I won't even try to bother with yaoi, yuris, or ones where siblings date because those are just plain nasty and stupid.

Tai and...
Mimi: Yes, she is a girl, and lots of people said they should be a couple because athletes and cheerleader types go alike, blah, blah. Basically, I've seen no evidence to them liking each other and going out.
Kari: If you believe this is going to happen, what are you smoking? They're brother and sister for god's sake! Do you have a sibling? Then you'd understand why they'd NEVER, EVER go together. I've heard of keeping it in the family, but this is ridiculous.
Jun: No one's ever mentioned this one, but I can't see it at all. Have they even met?
Yolei: Yeah right. They've barely said two words to each other.
Matt: Do you have any best friends of the same sex? Do people constantly say you two are going out and seriously mean it? Face it people, Tai and Matt are straight. Plus, this is a KID show, would they put any homosexual couples? Sura they've held hands (ewww) and other stuff you can consider gay, but they're just best friends.
Izzy: You're kidding, right? Yeah, some believe in this, and if you have absolutely any proof, tell me so I can have a good laugh.
Joe: ...Right. This is sort of the same as Izzy. I don't even have to comment on this for you to know it'll never work.
TK: Yes, of course I can see them together...NOT! I don't have to say anything about this one either.
Davis: He wants to be like Tai, not with him. And we know Davis is straight because he's madly in love with Kari, not her big brother.
Cody: Sure...

Sora and...
Matt: I hear people saying all the time that Matt and Sora are perfect for each other. And how is this? That they rarely talk to each other, and it's never any deep conversations. She doesn't scream his name in a crisis or even trust him all the way. When he wanted to fight Tai, she wasn't on his side or anything. She listens to Tai, not some loner rebel trying to be leader. (Okay, Yamato fans, don't kill me, I'm just saying Sora isn't his type.)
Izzy: I just don't see anything to make anyone think they're a good couple...
Joe: If you think they should be a couple because Sora's always the nicest one to him, think again. Sora's nice to everyone, it's just how she is, no matter what they're like.
TK: He said when they were in the Digital world, being with Sora made him not miss him mom as much. That means he sees her more as a motherly figure, not a crush.
Davis: Like I said, he's insane about Kari.
Cody: I've never seen anything to back it up or shoot this down, because there's nothing.
Mimi: This is like Matt and Tai - they're nothing but best friends. That whole "girl power" thing didn't mean that girls are the best and should only date each other. These two are just friends and that's about the extent of it.
Kari: She doesn't like Kari, or Davis would hate her too. She's after Kari's older brother, I'd say.
Jun: I don't know if these two have met either... But Jun is crazy for cute guys (she even has them sign her shirt!), especially Matt.
Yolei: If Yolei were to be with any girl, there's more chances of her liking Mimi (but she likes her as the sisterly type). Anyway, Sora said that she and Yolei would be best friends forever, nothing more.

Other couples?
Mimato: I'd say this is a good couple. They even seem the right type: fashion- crazed, girly girl & cool, rock star guy. They even look right! Anyway, rumors say they've held hands before in season 1, but they cut it out for us. I know more stuff, but I'm too lazy to write it.
Takari: I swear, they have to be the cutest couple! Ever since season 1, you could tell. Angemon, Angewoman... I know you can't trust Dark Masters, but Piedmon even said (something like this, at least), "It looks like you two are falling...for each other!" Not even Davis can break these two up!
Mimoe/Jyoumi, whatever you want to call it: I actually could see those two together, but I have no idea why... If any of you fans could give me any reasons so I can understand why I think this could work...
Izzy/Yolei: I forgot what this was called. Anyway, two brainy types, and I have no idea what else they have in common, but they fit.
Koumi/Mishiro: I just don't see it. In the episode with the temple of the digivice or whatever, you may have taken that as proof, but of what? That Izzy's computer and a bunch of hieroglypics are more important than a member of their team?
Dakari: Don't kid me. Davis' love is totally unrequited. He's madly in love with her, but she always seems to blow him off for TK and she can't even stand him a lot of the time. ("I can't stand anyone who talks bad about their brother or sister" or something like that, remember?) Kari's just too nice and Davis is too much of a jerk for them to go out.
